Solved.IT wins support contract for Ichron

Solved.IT have today won the contract to provide support for the IT infrastructure, network security, network peripherals, server systems and backup devices for Ichron Limited, based in Northwich, Cheshire.

Ichron Limited was established in the UK in February 1995 to occupy a niche market in the field of integrated geoscience consultancy. The company remit was to offer a range of services in the connected areas of stratigraphic correlation, depositional modelling and reservoir quality evaluation. To undertake this task we recruited both experienced geoscientists and highly motivated postgraduates starting out in the industry.

Twelve months previously, Solved.IT had designed, configured and installed a new network for Ichron which consisted of HP ProLiant servers, SonicWALL NSA High Availability firewalls, SonicWALL CDP Backup devices, Avaya Telecommunication systems and a wireless bridge link between two buildings.

We also had to remove the existing switching system and install new HP ProCurve managed switches and create new VLANs to satisfy the demands of the existing PC and Apple Mac network.

However, at the time Ichron were already had an existing support contract to run for the infrastructure and the servers and so Solved.IT provided only a managed SonicWALL security service.
