Two million employees spend more than an hour a day on Facebook… while they’re at WORK

August 2010

Social networking websites are costing the UK economy £14 billion a year in lost work time, new research has revealed.

It found around two million workers spend an hour each day on Facebook, Twitter and Myspace when they should be working.

SonicWALL Premium Content Filtering (PCF)  is available as part of the UTM services or on a seperate appliance. PCF enforces protection and productivity policies for businesses, schools, and libraries to reduce legal and privacy risks while minimising administration overhead. PCF provides network administrators with greater control by automatically and transparently enforcing acceptable use policies.

If you want to allow employees to have access to these sites without impacting on work time. One of the features of PCF allows you to set controlled time slots during the working day, this could be before 9am, between 12 & 2 or after 5pm.
